As a budding educator I am hoping this creating this website as my capstone for the Instructional Technology Licensure Program will put on full display what I have become as a teacher after following the steps set up by the program. Currently I hold a bachelors degree in history as well as my initial license in history for high school education. Sandwich High School is where I am currently employeed in my second year of teaching One of my biggest goals as a teacher is to make students realize how powerful technology can be! I am always looking for ways for students to become amazing 21st century students. I am concerned for this child as a whole because I understand how diffiult it can be to be a student in this day and age.
As a teacher we need to be there to support all students not matter what that is what I am hoping to pass along through all my students. As a teacher I am focused very much on the skills rather than specific applications and products which may be a passing trend on the internet or different devices. I believe that way in which children are learning and the way in which informaiton is being accessed is rapidly changing. As educators we need to realize that these changes are happening very quickly and we need to prepare to move and adapt to the changes which are being made in the world today. Within my work I am hoping to allow all students to get a better understanding of the internet and how to properly use the many different things that it can do. Students need to be able to leverage the internet to work for them, and this often means that students need to be able to adapt, evaluate, and research on the internet effectively. My goal is to get technology into the hands of all students, and help teachers adapt to the shift which is currently happening in their classes. I will continue to adapt and grow as an educator in the world in which we live in today. My goal is to help all within the school grow and learn as educators to be the best that they can be.
