TF-IV Assessment and Evaluation
Educational technology facilitators apply technology to facilitate a variety of effective assessment and evalation strategies. Educational technology facilitiators:
A. Apply technology in assessing students learning of student matter using a variety of assessment techniques: Candidates:
1. Model the use of technology tools to assess student learning of subject matter using a variety of assessment techniques.
I frequently use formative assessments to see how students are getting the knowledge which is being provided to them.
2. Assist teachers in using technology to improve learning and instruction through the evaluation and assessment of artifacts and data.
Held workshop on using Google Applications in the classroom. Sandwich High School offered class on implementing technology into the classroom in Fall of 2012. Covered several of these topics.
B. Use technology resources to collect and analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings to improve instructional practice and maximize student learning. Candidates:
1. Guide teachers as they use technology resources to collect and analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings to improve instructional practice and maximize student learning.
After obtaining the formative feedback from students I went back to my own lessons and reassessed my own teaching. Changes made and areas which did not meet my own standards were addressed. Results were shared with all within my department.
C. Apply multiple methods of evaluation to determine students' appropriate use of technology resources for learning, communication, and productivity. Candidates:
1. Assist teachers in using recommended evaluation strategies for improving students' use of technology resources for learning, communication, and productivity.
Meet with several teachers on how they could use Google Drive, and Dropbox for workflow purposes. Teachers were able to use these tools to help themselves get work to and from students in the classroom.
2. Examine and apply the results of a research project that includes evaluating the use of a specific technology in a PK-12 environment.
Helped to pilot the 1-1 iPad initivate at Sandwich High School. Helped deploy and evaluate the iPads into Freshman, Sophomore, and Juniors hands. Able to evaluate the program and see what could be improved. Helped develop an AUP for using the iPad in the school
