TF-V Productivity and Professional Practice
Educational Technology Facilitators apply technology to enhance and improve personal productivity and professional practice. Educational technology facilitators:

A. Use technology resources to engage in ongoing professional development and lifelong learning. Candidates: 

1. Identify resources and participate in professional development activities and professional technology organizations to supprot ongoing professional growth related to technology.

Created Technology Monday's at the school. Teachers are able to come in and discuss any problems which they might be having in their classrooms relating to anything technology. We have implemented "Techno Knights" which allows students, parents, people from the community to come into the school and talk technology with the school and teachers. Taught Integrating Technology Sandwich High School Fall 2012


2. Disseminate information on district-wide policies for the professional growth opportunities for staff, faculty, and administrators.

Send out emails about VHS opportunities within the district. Send out emails to remind teachers about Technology Mondays. Sent out information about Integrating Technology class which was held at Sandwich High School Fall 2012. 

B. Continually evaluate and reflect on professional practice to make informed decisions regarding the use of technology in support of student learning. Candidates:

1. Continually evaluate and reflect on professional practice to make informed decisions regarding the use of technology in support of student learning. 

I am highly critical of myself and my teaching profession. I am continually reflecting on all projects, lessons, and assignments which are put forth in my own classroom. 

C. Apply Technology to increase productivity. Candidates: 

1. Model advanced features of word processing, desktop publishing, graphics programs, and utilities to develop professional products

Helped multiple teachers with all productivity suites including Microsoft versions and Google Applications. 

2. Assist others in locating, selecting, capturing, and integrating video and digital images in various formats for use in presentations, publications, and/or other products. 

Researched multiple different types of of formats for publications. Teachers are openly and regularly meet with me when dealing with presenting different things in and out of school. Teachers are able to meet with me regularly when they need any help at all.

3. Demonstrate the use of specific-purpose electronic devices (such as graphic calculators, lagnuage translators, scientific probeware, or electronic thesaurus) in content areas. 

iPad initiative for students has been implemented by the technology department. I have been able to help with the implementation and creation of many different items in the school. We as a school were able to implement that and Apple products school-wide. 

4. Use a variety of distance learning systems and use at least one to support personal/professional development. 

I have created several different websites for teachers to be able to go to and implement different kinds of technologies inside of their own classrooms. We as a department have shared out whole curriculum between teachers.  

5. Use instructional design principles to develop hypermedia and multimedia products to support personal and professional development.

 Held professional development October 1st 2012 on integrating the iPad into the classroom setting. Teachers were also introduced to using QR codes in the classroom.


7. Use examples of emerging programming, authoring or problem-solving environments that support personal/professional development.
I created this website to show my professional development.



8. set and manipulate preferences, defaults, and other selectable features of operating systems and productivity tool programs commonly found in PK-12 schools.
Changed my calendar so that teachers were able to see if I was available to teach a lesson or help them with technology.

D. Use technology to communicate and collaborate with peers, parents, and the larger community to nurture student learning. Candidates:

 
1. model the use of telecommunications tools and resources for information sharing, remote information access, and multimedia/hypermedia publishing in order to nurture student learning.


Use Google Forms as a form of assessment and to provide feedback to the students. Explain Everything also allows me to explain different items to students which might need it. 


  2. Communicate with colleagues and discuss current research to support instruction, using applications including electronic mail, online conferencing, and Web browsers.
 

Communicated with my colleagues using email and Google Documents. Meet with them regularly to discuss different topics which have popped up.

3. Participate in online collaborative curricular projects and team activities to build bodies of knowledge around specific topics.

Planned and implemented professional development about using the iPad in the classroom effectively. Used Google Documents to create the activities which would be involved. Took webinar on PowerSchool which is currently being implemented at my school. Was able to attend workshops and bring knowledge back to teachers.

4. Design, develop, and maintain Web pages and sites that support communication between the school and community.

Developed several different websites for teachers/students/parents to use to gain information for using the iPad and Evernote effectively.
